Committees

Business Retention and Expansion: Effectively advocate for consistent state-wide existing business retention policies and highlight existing best practices as professional development opportunities for MEDC members. The committee will work to link MEDC members with existing industry through training, tools, technology and networks to positively affect the state’s business climate.

Communications: Conduct internal and external communications utilizing all forms of multi-media to inform the membership, elected and appointed officials, and the general public of the MEDC‘s resources, actions and opportunities.

Conference Planning: Plan and implement educational conferences as directed by the MEDC Board of Directors.

Marketing: Create avenues for MEDC members to leverage marketing resources, receive counseling on and recognition for marketing efforts, and coordinate with strategic partners that support the attraction and expansion of jobs and investment in Missouri.

Membership: Assist staff in membership retention and new member recruitment.

Professional Development: Research educational needs of MEDC membership and determine which courses presented by International Economic Development Council, National Development Council, etc. should be held in Missouri that would assist in our members’ educational career path development. Coordinate with these entities to hold course(s) as deemed appropriate and directed by the MEDC Board of Directors.

Public Policy: Actively participate in the public policy process by serving as a trusted resource on issues related to community and economic development.

Workforce Development: Serve as the connection between the workforce development community in Missouri and the MEDC membership, bringing timely workforce issues to the MEDC board and educating the membership on existing and new workforce initiatives and highlighting the importance of workforce development to Missouri employers.
