MARK DAWSON RECEIVES AWARD AT MEDC ANNUAL CONFERENCE
Lake Ozark, MO (June 15, 2016) –Mark Dawson, CEcD, KCP&L, Lee’s Summit was named by the Missouri Economic Development Council (MEDC) as the 2016 Affiliate Member of the Year. This prestigious award is presented to an MEDC member who has made significant contributions in the field of community-based economic development but whose primary job duty is not community based economic development and may work in job training, utilities, education or research.
Mr. Dawson has extensive experience serving the economic development community of Missouri. Currently, as the Community Affairs Manager for KCP&L. His territory includes over 120 communities. He is a key team member of the team on any economic or community development project in his territory. He works to bring all partners together, helps to keep the projects moving forward and is always timely in his communication.
“Mark is a great mentor to any one new to the economic development field. He goes out of his way to introduce himself, encourage professional development and make them feel welcomed to the team,” says Lynne Shea with Missouri Department of Economic Development who nominated Dawson for this important recognition.
