The Missouri Economic Developers Council (MEDC) Scholarship Program is designed to help MEDC members with limited resources to continuously develop professional economic development skills. Scholarships are given to attend educational and training programs that members may not otherwise attend due to financial restrictions.

Heartland Economic Development Course
- Up to three (3) $600 scholarships for worthy MEDC current members to attend the Heartland Economic Development Course.
- In addition, the Heartland Economic Development Course will provide MEDC with one additional scholarship to HEDC to award to a worthy student in the amount of $595.00.
The one week course in basic economic development (HEDC) will be held April 23-27, 2017 at Adams Pointe Conference Center in Blue Springs. Payment of scholarships monies will be made directly to the individual.
MO DED Scholarships to Cover Costs for any MEDC Member seeking Professional Certification as a CEcD, PCED, or EDFP
- MEDC will provide up to $1,200 to issue two $600 scholarships (or combination of partial amounts) to cover the costs for a member’s course/program registration, or other costs required.
MEDC members who wish to apply for one of these scholarships must complete the appropriate application and return to the MEDC office no later than February 15, 2017 – no exceptions. Notification to all individuals who submit a scholarship application will be made no later than February 24, 2017.
